This FREE, fun, family-friendly celebration includes Santa sightings, free train rides on the Lafayette Express, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, kid’s crafts, holiday treats and more! Arrive early and plan to stay!

Festivities begin at 4pm when Santa is scheduled to parade along Golden Gate Way starting at the Lafayette Historical Society and arriving at Lafayette Plaza Park (corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Moraga Road) at 4:30pm. A must-not-miss for the little ones!

The “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” event is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, and sponsored by local Lafayette Realtor The Dana Green Team and Branagh Development, who together are also hosting the environmentally-friendly downtown Lafayette twinkle lights for the Holiday Season.

For a fun, safe Halloween event, children and their parents are invited to Trick-or-Treat on Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Plaza Way to Dewing Ave, Lafayette Circle and in La Fiesta Square from 4:00-6:00pm. This is a free event with candy and festivities provided Lafayette's local businesses. Don't forget to bring your Trick-or-Treat bag!

 The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-presenters of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held on a Sunday in October. Oakwood Athletic Club is a decades long sponsor of this event.

5k: 8am, 10k: 8:15am, 2 mile: 8:45am with the Reservoir Challenge “running” October 11-18. Price varies per race. Credit Card Convenience fee will be added during the payment process.

Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. Groups, clubs, and organizations are encouraged to attend. Donations direct to your school of choice can also be made on the website. Healthy Lifestyles Fair takes place 7:30am-10:30am on Lafayette Circle between The Roundup Saloon, Roam, White Barn Home and Tutu’s.

Starting at 5pm, Generations in Jazz will delight you with a 40-minute set of classic jazz standards, followed by a second set featuring special guest musicians at 6pm. Don’t miss New You Dance Center‘s dynamic performances at 5:45pm and 6:45pm, showcasing everything from Salsa to Tap. The live shows wrap up at 7pm, but the energy continues with DJ Aj Rogers spinning tracks until 7:30pm. Don’t miss out!

Businesses throughout Lafayette will be showcasing local artisan items – perfect gifts for upcoming occasions – Mother’s Day, Graduation, Father’s Day.

The Lafayette Res Run for Education

The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held on a Sunday in October.

The 2023 Lafayette Res Run for Education will be held Sunday, October 22. 5k: 8am, 10k: 8:15am, 2 mile: 8:45am with the Reservoir Challenge “running” October 12-21.

Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber.

The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Join us in 2023 for the 10k, 5k or the 2 mile run/walk for fun! Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents are welcome to join in the fun.

Registration is open until race day, but prices increase October 13, 2023. Get $5 off now! T-shirts are limited. Race packets that include our traditional long sleeve t-shirt and race bib are available at packet pickup in October.
